Madison-Oneida-For-Peace is a group of citizens from the Madison & Oneida county areas of central New York who envision a peaceful resolution to the war in Iraq. The group holds vigils On the 3rd Wednesday of each month, at 6:00 PM (Time may change June thru Aug), at the city of Sherrill's gazebo at 633 Sherrill Road. Posts are added by coalition members and are either their opinions, not necessarily those of the entire group's, or they are articles found elsewhere on the Internet.
The August peace vigil will be held at my home (426 Broad Street, Oneida--faces Grove Street intersection--painted brown brick with green, red andbeige trim--large hedges in front) on August 30, at 7:00 PM as an anniversary of our first vigil as a group. The vigil will be brief and followed by a planning session for an Oneida Day of Peace. Hope to see you there.

The Madison-Oneida-For-Peace blog has been created by members of a coalition which formed this summer to hold a vigil in support of Cindy Sheehan. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join the coalition's activities which will include monthly vigils in and around Oneida and discussion meetings to determine other possible activities and to keep the community informed about the local peace movement.
